DruidHillCare provides Residential High-Intensity Addictions Treatment (ASAM Level 3.5) for adults with severe substance use disorders who require intensive therapeutic engagement, continuous residential supervision, and appropriate medical and psychiatric oversight in a structured, non-hospital setting.

This level of care is designed for individuals who need the highest level of residential treatment outside of a hospital. Participants live on-site and receive a minimum of 36 hours of therapeutic activities per week, combined with 24-hour residential care, medical and psychiatric involvement, and a highly structured environment to support stabilization and recovery.

Admissions are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call (443) 320-2676 to speak with our intake team.

Who This Program Serves

The Residential High-Intensity (ASAM Level 3.5) program serves adults age 18 and older who reside in Maryland and meet ASAM Level 3.5 medical necessity criteria. Participants often have severe substance use disorders, may present with co-occurring mental health symptoms or complex behavioral needs, and require a controlled environment with intensive clinical and medical support. This level is appropriate when lower levels of residential care are insufficient to maintain safety and engagement in treatment.

24/7 Residential Care & Continuous Support

This program operates as a true 24-hour residential program. Participants live on-site and receive continuous supervision and support. Residential staff are present at all times to ensure safety, structure, and immediate response to resident needs. Intake and admissions are available around the clock so individuals and referral sources can access care when the need arises.

Therapeutic Intensity & Daily Structure

Residential High-Intensity treatment delivers a minimum of 36 hours of therapeutic activities per week. Clinical and program services are provided during structured service hours, with continuous engagement in the treatment process, structured accountability, and behavioral change focus. The program includes robust relapse prevention, emotional regulation, recovery skill application, and preparation for transition to lower levels of care or the community. Medical and psychiatric services are integrated to address complex needs and support stabilization.

Services Provided

Services in the ASAM Level 3.5 program include individual and group substance use disorder treatment, clinical assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, peer recovery support, relapse prevention, coping and life skills development, case management, and when clinically indicated opioid treatment and medical or psychiatric services. All services are delivered by licensed, certified, or authorized professionals in accordance with the Maryland Health Occupations Article and COMAR regulations.

Philosophy & Goals

The Residential High-Intensity program is designed to support stabilization, recovery, and long-term success through a team-based approach that integrates clinical, medical, psychiatric, peer, and residential services. The overarching goal is to help individuals achieve stability in recovery, reduce the need for higher levels of care, and prepare for successful transition and aftercare planning.

Admission, Insurance & Referrals

To be admitted, individuals must meet ASAM Level 3.5 medical necessity criteria. We serve individuals who are uninsured and qualify, certain dually eligible Medicare recipients, and those eligible for Maryland Medicaid. We accept referrals from courts and governmental agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, and self-referrals. Call today to verify eligibility or begin the admissions process.
